The Small Business Development Corporation has had a longstanding and, mutually beneficial association with women in business. We recognise the enormous contribution made by this sector to the Western Australian economy and to the diversity of the small business community.

Small businesses of all kinds, from heavy haulage transport to skincare, fashion, tourism and hospitality, are being run by successful, entrepreneurial woman in all parts of Western Australia today.

In Western Australia, we have an estimated 196,000 small businesses with around 35 per cent of those currently operated by women. This number is rapidly increasing.

Obstacles such as gender, age, education and geographical location are becoming things of the past.

At SBDC, we are keen to assist women to access the right information, the right people and the right networks to start, develop and grow successful small businesses.
